I met this image while looking at your photos. Sorry I didn't see this imagine before, because it was in less recent photos. So you have Boletus Edulis in Germany too, I mean you have our same tradition. I didn't know that! The English as example don't have this habit, as we do. A friend of mine, who lived in England, had no difficulty finding them, because nobody picked them there.
I didn't know that Boletus Edulis season was May in Germany, it is the end of August and September here in North of Italy. The condition for porcini (their name is this in Italy) to grow is the intense summer heat and then plenty of rain (no wind to dry out the soil). Mushrooms in the basket will be at least 5 or 6 kg and all are young and not pierced by begos( which happens with old mushrooms)!
They can grow until the end of October in woods in Italy, if the season is good and not too cold. As I told you yesterday, our woods here in Liguria are full of chestnut trees and so mushrooms have a very good taste, which is different from the beech one.
Very Nice photo really! Good night. Stefania
Hello Stefania
Here the porcini mushrooms are in season from May to the beginning of November. I also take birch mushrooms, chestnuts and boletus mushrooms with me in my mushroom basket. At Easter I will go to the mushrooms for the first time this year.
Hello Anton
Das sieht nach einem opulenten Mahl aus ... schön, wenn man die essbaren Pilze von den giftigen unterscheiden kann !!!
Ich wünsche Dir einen schönen Sonntag und bleib gesund!
Liebe Grüße
