A propos de moi
Hi and thanks for taking the time to check out my profile!
This is what you will find below:
1. How I would like to interact with you on FC
2. About myself
3. Suggestions for where to learn more about photography
1. How I would like to interact with you on FC
-------------------------------------------------------------
Before I tell you a little about myself and why I like photography I would like to tell your about my reason for being active on FC, what my FC strategy is and how we could learn from each other.
I want to learn how to take and make better pictures. To accomplish that I will use FC to look at and learn from great pictures that other have taken (stored under Favourites) and upload my own pictures to get to know
a) What other people think of them, what they like and, very important ....
b) What I can do to improve them.
So please, let me know not only what you think but also how you think a picture of mine could be improved. It's okey if you write in German. I spent a lot of time studying German at the University in the 80s so I understand it quite well. Unfortunately I have lost my ability to write well in German since then.
In return for spending that extra energy on a picture of mine I will not say "thanks for the feedback" on your profile. I will check out your pictures and give the same kind of feedback on one of yours.
2. About myself
-------------------------------------
Having said that, let me introduce myself.
I picked up photography as a hobby a year ago after a very long pause. I used to be quite interested as a teenager but between then (quite some time ago I'm afraid) and 2007 I bsically only took snapshots. Now I'm really into this again and try to read and learn as much about photography as I can between my work and my family.
What I appreciate most with photography is how immensely it has improved my ability to actually "see", percieve and appreciate places, things and situations around me in everyday life. That improved ability certainly makes my life richer and more exiting. There are pictures everywhere, all the time. It's only a pity that the camera is not there when you really wish you had it on your shoulder.
Photography is also something very different from my day job so it makes an excellent job at making me relax from work. Not that I don't have to be creative at work and overcome interesting challenges but photography opens up another dimension of life if you see what I mean.
I am especially fascinated by black & white photography which I find convey moods and sentiments much better than colour. Having difficulties to judge several colours correctly also makes B&W atttractive as I don not have to worry about not perceiving weird tints when I process my pictures.
I live in Stockholm Sweden and use a Nikon D300 wth an 18-200 zoom lens for just about everything I shoot. I process my slides with Capture NX, Photoshop Elements and Nik Software Silver Efex Pro.
3. Suggestions for where to learn more about photography (books,

Thanx for your comment. I think that we're partially attracted by decadence because we somehow think that with a nice picture we are able to give back some of the lost dignity to the subject. Besides, beauty and deterioration are contrasts. And contrasts always inspire any sort of art :-) I'd be curious to read the books you mentioned!JOKIST 27/03/2010 21:35
Many thanks for your coment !!!!!LG Ingrid und Hans
