Hi,
My name is Carlos Sandoval and I am a fine art photographer living in Buenos Aires. I started taking photographs about 30 years ago always in B&W. I really like painting. Both are art forms that share many similarities, such as composition, focal point and use of light. I started photographing buildings, the relationships between space and form that are manifested through geometry and symmetry.
With the advent of the internet I was discovering the most outstanding photographers that we could only see in a book, and I discovered that I liked both the fine art genres, geometry, its shapes and street photography. I loved deep high contrast blacks and I was more attracted to black and white images. With black and white, I could see that there was more potential to create an emotion.
My images explore the intersection between the urban and the artistic, seeking beauty in geometric shapes, textures and human interactions. Through a minimalist approach, I seek to simplify reality, revealing the essence of each scene.
