Thanks for your nice comment! And your remark about wanting a better camera: try to make as much as you can with your current camera! Although it sounds cheap: it's the idea that counts...
I made this with my old Canon Powershot:
And I made this with my new Canon 400D:
They have the same impact, but the last one just looks a bit better. So, just go out and experiment. And if you want to buy a new one...just get one without just automatic functions...get one where you can manually adjust shutterspeed and/or aperture.
