To My Father

Don't stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I'm always by your side and feel,
Your touch, as it still was real.

I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glow on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake up in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the soft starlight at night.

Memories are all we leave behind, as we depart,
To our beloved ones to keep in mind and in their heart.

Memories of joy, memories of pain,
Beautiful moments, covered in rain.
Nothing to touch, though still to feel,
Momories of past, forever will last.

Don't stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
As it is with each one on this world,
Life comes,
Life goes,
And fades away.

This series of ten photographs, of which this is the second one,
is dedicated to my father Wilhelm K.,
who brought me close
to this beautiful art called photography!

All photographs, except of this first one,
are taken by him on our trip through Mexico
and Baja California in the late eighties.
