Megachaos at the Nepalese border checkpoint Kodari
Kodari, the border checkpoint to Nepal, was the most chaotic one I have ever had passed through. Only with the help by insiders with the payment of a generous baksheesh (corruption everywhere) is a change to get forward passing through.
Look closer to the border bridge and parking space, there are waiting a lot of trucks to get cleared. Some of them were waiting for more than two weeks.
An other reason why the lories could not go on were some landslides happen just a day before. The highway at the Nepalese side was destroyed, look to the next picture.
My picture is taken in May 2004 with a NIKON CoolPix 5000.

Very chaotic indeed. Corruption everywhere and not only here in Spain, but we are not very far from this.Anyway, I'd love to travel right now.
