Old Neptune

from the abandoned fuel dock at Minstrel Island

thank you to all for your interest in my latest photos from Minstrel Island ....

one has to imagine a very small island covered by bush and rock, inhabitated by bears, far away from the Mainland and from Vancouver Island, accessible only after passing through dangerous waterways full of currents or by seaplane ... there is no electricity, no running water, no store, no doctor, no library, no, no, no, no .... and then comes the fog and the winter storms. What first was idyllic gets difficult to handle - and when leaving the place you only have a small boat to pack things into and .... maybe you plan to go back.
Well, I have been trying to imagine what it must have been like, but the isolation and just meeting people who happen to come your way would make life so hard !!!
