The Fungi World (377) : Dyer's Mazegill
Dyer’s mazegill (also known as velvet-top fungus) is a fungus that usually grows on bare tree roots of conifers in overlapping tiers.
It's a significant parasite, attacking the host tree through its roots and often killing him as a result of serious brown rot that it causes !
This fungal infection can mean a significant tree loss for a forest.
