The Last Golds of Autumn - A Murray Hill Impression
An arctic blast had turned the morning rain into snow before leaving
a blustery and frigid afternoon on this November day in New York City.
.
My objectives for the afternoon were to shoot the soaring forms and skybridge
of the American Copper Buildings (*) as well as other locations in Murray Hill.
I expected the high winds that accompanied that frigid air mass would blast away any remaining color in the
form of autumn leaves, but fortunately enough of them remained to provide some inviting bits of color among the
mainly gray cityscape, as was the case in the (predictably) empty St. Vartan Park and Playground, named for
the nearby Saint Vartan Armenian Cathedral.
