Village Jarkhot

Jharkot is the place for a stop to overnight. This is a small and last village on the way to Muktinath or to Thorang pass. The scenic beauty is marvelous. I visited this place in the year of 1986. In a simple guest house we had the conversation with local Thakali people, an ethnolinguistic group originated from the Thak Khola region of the Mustang District in the Dhaulagiri zone. (Photos from my tour to Mustang in 1999 and the meeting with the king of Mustang HRM Jigme Palbar Bistar I'll post some weeks later.)

The slide photo is scanned by a Nikon CoolScan 5000 ED from Kodachrome 100.
