A propos de moi
I started taking pictures with a Pentax K1000 in 1983 while recovering from a motorcycle accident. My best friend gave me the camera to save my sanity since I wasn't able to be the "old me anymore".
Early on, I did outdoor and street scenes but later got into travel photography. Still riding motorcycles (slow learner), I started photographing post offices to prove to my friends where I'd been. It was an ongoing bet with the guys that I couldn't get to their weird map targets and back to work on Monday morning. More mature now, I'm starting to look for strong faces to photograph but I still have to stop for an awesome sunset or sunrise.
I started out with the K1000 (who hasn't?) and bought a Pentax LX after the K1000 took a tumble off the motorcycle. I still have the LX but it's a paperweight. Bought a beat up Nikon F and a couple lenses. I liked the Nikon and eventually worked through a couple F2's, an F3, F5 and finally a D100. The motorcycle is hard on cameras.
My currrent equipment list is a Canon EOS20D (recommended by the same friend who gave me the old K1000), a Sigma 18-50 F2.8 DC lens, and a Canon 70-200 F2.8L. I'm typing this on a iMac G4. I also have a Kodak 1400 printer, Mitsubishi CP9500 printer, and a Canon i9900 printer.
I live in a very small town and make extra $ taking senior pictures, weddings, and local sports teams (explains the dye sub printers). Looking to expand into a real business instead of "the picture guy".
