Thanks for providing me with the correct ID Mark.
Lycogala epidendrum is not mentioned in my fungus guide, so I searched for the next nearest images and ended up with Dacrymyces stillatus! But in Wikipedia I read that L. epidendrum is not really a fungus, so therefore it was not in my guide.

I'm sorry that I uploaded the same type of image, running out of material very quickly now...the snow is only just about gone and we have not been out with the camera much this winter, too cold, so I'm scratching around to find old images. As to the chosen POV, I took this photo standing on a wall because there were other photographers in front of me. If I hadn't cropped the photo, I would have included the back of the heads of these photographers!
