Dear David, thank you so much for your analytical comment. You do know how much I appreciate your comments. These dunes at Sossus Vlei are such an experience, first of all their color, totally different from other dunes. They glow for miles, on a clear day I see them glowing from the escarpment about 150km away just before I descend into the desert on the Spreetshoogte Pass. THen there is their shape and size, they are like mountains and their presence is overpowering, you feel them even in the dark.Sometimes I feel i have been there so often , that I know them only to be shown again and again that I cannot even begin to comprehend their mystery, their godwill- almost lovingness- their having been there forever and exuding wisdom and knowledge. I did get their color better on film, I still miss film but I am getting closer now (I cant photoshop). And so I am really looking forward to them, I hope there will be some clouds as this makes the play of light even more exciting. Best regards and many thanks, cathy
