Am I having a conversation with you Miltos Athanasiou? What part of my English do you not like and what are you finding fault.
I will post when I feel like posting, and not because you have something to say.
fanny gay,use your imagination..if you want to be photo critic you must improve your English n the way you do your critic,if you want to be a photographer stop the excuses n expose your work.

Szirmai, short of actually telling Owen it's a horribly bad picture, I'm trying to encourage him to look at how one looks at work, and how one goes about critiqueing work. Trained professionals in the discipline know what standards to apply, but autodidacts very seldom accept criticism. They all think their work is fantastic, and we know that is very, very far off the mark. They never subject their work to the scrutiny of experienced professionals, so they never get decent feedback. The result is that they never grow. But how do I say this to Owen without making him feel that I'm insulting him as a person. I'm speaking to the work, not to him. It's not personal.
Do yourself a favour Owen. Visit the comments of Robert Riley under the title 'Gallery Proposals' in the forum section. and go one step further. Visit your local university campus and engage with the professionals who work in the Fine Art Department. You will find their expertise very helpful and enlightning.
If you want to know a bit more about me, check out the two sites in my profile. The information is there for anyone to read. You're free to go there and criticise anything as you please. I'm accustomed to criticism.
Owen I don't owe anyone an explanation. I have a right to an opinion. In a democratic arena I also have a right to express it. I'm not being personal, neither am I insulting you. All I'm saying is that you should not have posted it. Decide on the merits of the work yourself. Or better still, get opinions from objective people who understand and are familiar with the standards for adjudicating and moderating aesthetics.
Read what I've said about not be in my home country at the moment. It would take up too much space to explain to you. I could do that by e-mail. In the meantime, look at all the pictures that qualify as 'good' and then have another look at yours.I'll post mine after 01 December when I'm back home.
What is wrong with a picture of the moon? Why would there be a discussion about this picture? Who are you John Sampson? Why are you in fotocommunity without pictures or a profile? EXPLAIN YOURSELF!
