I think it takes time and a lot of patience to produce good pictures and being in the right place. You have the eye, I have seen your portfolio.
Just take lots of pictures and select the best - the cream of the crop.

Rohan, I just read your message to me. Let me tell you what the difference is between tampering with a picture as you say and cropping. Tampering--which can make a better image at times--has to do with using filters, special effects in a program like Photoshop, and so forth that actually change the image that you see in your camera. Cropping, however, is the judgment the photographer uses in choosing what to capture. We do it all the time whether we are in front of a camera or walking down the street. We don't take in the whole street scene as we walk around. We focus on a person's face, something in a store window, a car coming towards us, or our eyes pull back and we see far into the distance or a wide view to the left and right. We are not conscious of the cropping we do as we walk around. We just go where our eyes take us. With a camera we choose where the eye of the camera will go. In your lovely image of the stairs and the wall, you could have shown us the vase as the main focal point. You could have shown us a detail on the wall. But you chose, wisely I think, the staircase, with the wall and vase as secondary subjects. That was your decision as a photographer, you were not tampering with what was in that hallway. So what I was saying about cropping the top of the picture, if you wanted to, was to show more of the staircase and less of the landing at the top which to me was not as interesting. You would not have tampered with the reality of the scene, you would have highlighted a particular aspect of it. That is the art of photography--what we choose to see and show in a photograph. That is an extension of our eye and vision. We can have great skill at camera technology but if we don't have an eye for what to photograph we will never produce good work. Tampering is when we take that vision and manipulate it after the fact--and there is an art in good "tampering" but that is not what we are talking about. I hope this explains what I mean and what I was suggesting. Nevertheless, your photograph as it is, and your eye for good photographs, are wonderful. Thank you for showing it to us. Regards, Helen

Thank you very much for your nice comments about my picture. I don't know, how many pfotos you usualy take in one month. Try take a lot of them, only on this way, your pfotos will be better and bettter . My camera is always with me, and I try to don't miss any ocasion. So you will get experiences. Your country is excellent for taking photos. I was in Egypt in November and enjoyed in photographing of desert. Was is unique.
