Annapolis No.28 - A Late Autumn Impression
It was a welcome surprise to find vivid autumn colors on my last visit to Annapolis in the last week of November,
when colors in my area of northern Virginia, just 50 miles to the west, were well past their peak and many trees
were on their way to being winter-bare.
Whether the vibrant reds of the magnificent maple on the State House lawn (*) or the yellow-golds
seen elsewhere in Maryland's capital, it turned into a long and productive late afternoon with the cameras.
Here, the late afternoon sun was bringing a wonderful translucence to the yellow-golds of the leaves on these fine old trees by the State Office Building across from Church Circle (which I'll leave you to imagine, but I promise to show them to you another time!) I also liked the patterns and textures in that special kind of light, in black and white.
