Approaching the Landwasser
Some joyful anticipation for a train-loving photographer...
As noted in other narratives, a recent visit to Switzerland’s Canton Graubünden afforded multiple opportunities, in superb
weather conditions, to photograph the trains of the Rhätische Bahn’s Albula Line crossing the soaring Landwasser Viadukt.
Whether shooting from a high viewpoint on terra firma or from the open window of an RhB train, the experiences
were thrilling, as each day provided a different, but always congenial mix of colors, lighting, and variety of trains.
While the view may be more awe-inspiring while actually crossing the Landwasser, there was always the warm glow
of seeing that magnificent Viadukt in the distance and knowing that the weather conditions were to cooperate once again.

The "Schmittentobel"-Viaduct, seldom photographed from the train, almost never from the outside since it is hidden by high trees and almost inaccessible, it spans the little gorge of the Schmittentobel at 35m height, named by the village above.Very well made, just in time to show the hint what lies ahead!
