Baumwanzenfliege, Gymnosoma spec., Körperlänge bis etwa 7,5 mm, Die Gattung Gymnosoma hat etwa acht sich äußerlich sehr ähnelnde Arten. Larve als Parasit in Baumwanzen. Die Imagines ernähren sich von Pollen und Nektar.

Gymnosoma rotundatum is a parasitoid fly found in Europe and Asia. It is sometimes referred to as a ladybird fly, a small 5-6mm long fly. The larvae live parasitic in the larvae of stink bugs. You can find the imagines from May to October. They feed on pollen and nectar.
It has a dark thorax, golden in males, and a globular orange abdomen decorated with dark rounded markings along the midline. The base of the wings are yellow-brown.Gymnosoma is a genus of flies in the family Tachinidae.
