this is an interesting question, john ...we can learn here how technique, light, style and make up can lead our mind into special directions ...
but exactly that is what makes photography interesting ... working on peoples thoughts ... (of course i wouldn't accept this in docu-shots).

The idea was to show that beauty does not depend on any current idea of what it is. Over the years peoples conception of what is acceptable in beauty changes. However, does it really. There are so many different fashions and styles that the media try to push on us and some tend to follow blindly. Does beauty change over time? The Mona Lisa is still regarded as a great work of art but would it fit the current ideas. The model in this shot is 14 years of age, so can one say it is dated simply because it does not fit the current trend.Massimo Carolla 05/03/2006 14:54
