CASA DA MÚSICA - CONCERT HALL
Built 2001 as a result of Porto's nomination as European Capital of Culture, designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas jointly with Porto's office of Metropolitan Architecture. Interiors are from Petra Blaisse and acoustics design from Renz Van Luxembourg.
Is main house of Porto National Orchestra and hosts different National and International Ensembles. Hosted performances from many International stars e.g. Lou Reed (inauguration)
13 rooms or halls are almost daily busy with concerts or Literature performances. Main Concert room is unique in the World as all walls are made of glass. Bars and restaurants, like the one in 7th. floor complements the cultural offer by organizing dinners with music and traditional Portuguese Fado.
