Chorten in Tholing

In Tibetan language 'Tholing' means "hovering in the sky forever" and is reflected by the location of the monastery at an elevation of 3,800 m.
We came very close to the origin temples built in 996 AC at the start of the "second diffusion" of Buddhism in Tibet.
This chorten and the temples of Tholing survived the senseless Chinese culture revolution in 1966-1976.

My picture is taken in May 2004 with a NIKON CoolPix 5000.
