Thanks!The Common Redpoll is the most common of all birds during the winter where I live. I was shooting it's relative, the really rare vagrant Coues's Arctic Redpoll, when this little beauty showed up.

what an intense look on the highbrow's face. he must be fixating food… ; ) have to admit that i had to google "common redpoll". we have so many siskins in our garden these days. but i've never once seen their redpoll relative, so it's an eye-opening image for me! the blood-red spot just above his beak – beautiful! kind regards, sabine.
