Cuckoo Flower
The Cuckoo Flower, or Lady's Smock, is found in marshy places - here quite near my home, on a boggy site that was also home to an abundant colony of Northern Marsh Orchids, one of which can be seen in the background. It was also home to Jack Snipe and Sedge Warblers. It was bulldozed to make a Garden Centre!

Hello Anna,It means depth of field or focus. Very difficult to achieve in close-up or macro photography. Here the camera angle would have been chosen to find a plane of focus, that was parallel to the film plane, but cut through the main cluster of flowerheads, and fortunately this included the Horsetails. This shot was taken hand-held and using two flashguns balanced to daylight and an aperture of f22. The manual focus T90 was much easier with such subjects as you could simply move the camera rather than use the focusing ring. Unfortunately my eyes are not as good now!
