Death of a town - the end phase #11
With this shot overviewing the pit and the excavator nearby the town "Pier" I will end this series. As mentioned before, I have documented this demolishing over 5 years, sometimes being sad, but sometimes being aware that this ending can be a new beginning. Many inhabitants have built new modern houses somewhere nearby, others just moved away.
The extension of the brown coal pits is only one part of the story of energy supply, in this case accepting the greenhouse gas. Here in Germany we are on the way of the "Energy Turnaround" - away from nuclear and coal power plants to renewable resources. I hope we'll get that, but I'm not sure………..

Hello BertholdGuess that renewable energy will be difficult to get, you know are dark hands behind the supplying business, although the nuclear one seems to be leading the way..the last accidents shown that are not that secure..maybe in the middle of nothing, but to convey such ammount of energy is rather expensive..I'm siding with the wind.
Thanks for showing us how how to do a decent work over the people jobless..
