Der weiße Dammhirsch / The White Fallow Deer

Wir schlenderten so durch den Wald, als sich plötzlich etwas im Unterholz regte. Der Dammhirsch trat aus dem Schatten. Wir waren etwas überrascht über die Farbe des Fells, aber in der Sonne sah das Tier sehr edel aus.
Ursprünglich habe ich das Tier für einen Elch gehalten, weil statt einem astartigen Geweih Schaufeln zu sehen waren.

We strolled through the forest when something suddenly stirred in the undergrowth. The fallow deer stepped out of the shade. We were a little surprised about the colour of the fur, but in the sun the animal looked very noble.
Originally I thought the animal was an elk, because instead of a branch-like antler shovels were visible.
