Faces of Iran - The end.
These stairs leading to broad daylight close the series on Iran.
Whether clad in black hijabs or bright shawls, rich or poor, old or young, the men and women behind these photos were not fanatics, but people like you and me.
Rarely, rarely have I met people as cultured, kind and hospitable as in Iran.
None wanted war, none showed hate of foreigners. Not even the serious looking men sitting in the front of the mosque at midnight. They were the funniest.
And they suffer in silence and dignity.
May the people in power set their fires elsewhere.
