What a place to play Cricket. To me this has a Gothic aura about it with the dark overtones, pensive sky and only the shells of structures standing.Regards.,

but Whitby - if it is - is by the way the place, where I bought my cam in my profile ... lovely little shop, where you could buy antique furniture and so on ...

I did not read all the responses, but I would put my money on guessing this location may be the ruined Benedictine Whitby Abbey. Wonderful spot and great photograph thereof.Cheers from Canada,
