Hindu cremation at the Bagmati river in Pashupatinath
This Hindu event gets more and more a tourist attraction. Before it was off-limits to join this events as a tourist so closed. When I came my first time visiting Pashupatinath in 1978 tourist and non Hindus only allowed to join the Hindu cremation from the other riverside where I was standing that time.
The platform the body was borned is the side where people from lower casts being cremanated, other side of the bridge over the Bagmati river is reserved only for high cast corpes Brahmins, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas,
The slide photo was captured during my tour in 1999 to Nepal and Mustang and scanned by a Nikon CoolScan 5000 ED from Kodachrome 100.

Fotos waren absolut tabu !
