House on the Amazon

I have travelled all of Brasil including the whole Amazon (by boat): from Belem via Santarem to Manaus and then from Manaus to Tabatinga (on the border to Leticia/Columbia and Santa Rosa/Peru). The whole trip took me 4 weeks plus another 12 hours on a speed boat from Santa Rosa to Iquitos. I survived wild Indians, anacondas, piranhas and electric eels, but I did not survive the unbelievable disrespect of many Brasilians for their environment. Throwing all rubbish over board into the river (when the captain can do it, everybody can) is just one of many sins. Amazonia is a great place and the rivers (Amazon and Rio Negro) are just wonderful. Lets hope they will survive this incredible attack.
