Lake Prokljan in summer...

Croatian lake Prokljan has an area of 11 km2, located in the lower reaches of the river Krka, and is connected with the sea by a narrow channel that ends at the port of Sibenik. Due to the connection with the sea, the water in the lake is salty in the lower layers and sweet at the surface. The northern part of the lake is shallow (average 4 m), while the southern part is the deeper (10-20 m). Upstream the river Krka comes to the national park.

Prokljan Lake is a natural phenomenon - cryptodepression - because the surface is above sea level, and the bottom is below sea level

On the shore of the lake is a beautiful village Bilice, from which this photo was taken.
