L'ombra della Solitudine ( the shadow of loneliness)

Foto AUTOscattata all'interno del ex-manicomio abbandonato di Volterra (PI)- Italy......La solitudine e/o l’abbandono da parte dei familiari era un tema ricorrente per i “pazienti” di questo tipo di strutture, in quanto le persone che mostravano disagi psichici o comportamentali o semplicemente arrecavano vergogna alla cosiddetta società civile venivano internati in queste strutture, quasi come un rifiuto da “cestinare”, ed in loro sicuramente, essendo diversamente sensibili cresceva un alto senso di rabbia, disperazione, il tutto certo non contribuiva a migliorare la loro psiche o i loro comportamenti …..e quindi si trovavano a subire ogni tipo di terapie di contenzione e sperimentazioni elettriche.
La foto è stata scattata sempre al pian terreno in uno dei saloni del corridoio di sx.
In questa parte della struttura ci sono tre scritte di questo tipo (fatte postume alla chiusura del manicomio) : Solitudine, Rabbia, Pazzia ……. Mi suggeriscono che l’autore delle scritte abbia voluto comunicare che l’una è la conseguenza dell’altra, legate in un vortice che alimentava il loro senso di frustrazione e follia.

Loneliness and / or 'abandonment by family members was a recurring theme for the "patients" of such structures, as people who showed behavioral or mental illness or just causing shame to the so-called civil society were interned in these structures, almost like a waste of trash, and they certainly, since they vary sharply increased a strong sense of anger, despair, all certainly not helped to improve their psyche or their behavior ... .. and then they were to suffer any kind therapy of restraint and electric power trials.
The photo was taken always at the ground floor in one of the halls of the left corridor.
In this part of the structure there are on the wall three words, for example (made posthumously to the closure of the srtucture): Loneliness, Anger, madness ... .... I suggest that the author wanted to communicate in writing of that one is the consequence of the other, linked to a vortex that fueled their sense of frustration and madness.
