Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (named Mahatma Gandhi, Gujarati, Devanagari, Mohandâs Karamcand Gândhî; * 2th October 1869 at Porbandar, Gujarat; † 30th January 1948 at New-Delhi, Delhi) was a indian advocat, pacifist, human rights activist and the political and intellectual leader of the indian independence movement. The independency movement caused 1947 the ending of the british colonialism based on Gandhis concepet of the nonviolent opposition. In addition to Ahimsa (non violent) his concept „Satyagraha“ (sticking on truth) consits of other ethical postulations like „Swaraj“ that stands for both individual and political autocracy.
