I love this one. It reminds me one of my all-time favorite Chinese films, Kaili Blue. This film is very poetic, and employs lots of magical realism elements, such as all sorts of fake and real clocks, trains running through dark tunnels, etc, to create a sense of distortion and entanglement of space and time. Life is just a pile of dreams and we're all being trapped in a strange loop where we thought our beliefs becomes firmer day by day but in fact we're only repeating our regrets about love, family, and ourselves with those stronger beliefs till we finally give up to make any changes in this dream. So, what is real in our life? Our beliefs? our sensations? Or our experiences? I think that's my understandings about that film.
