the harder the winter the tamer they become. at least that's what's happening in my garden these unrelentingly cold and snowy march days: when i fill the bird feeders in the morning, mr. (or mrs., for that matter… ; )) lands close to my feet patiently waiting till i'm done, so he can satisfy his hunger. it's his only chance, too, to overcome his fear of humans, as all the other bossy birds – fieldfares, blackbirds, even starlings (my personal raisin-eating nemesis!) – will soon appear and chase him away from the survival goodies! cute capture of the big-eyed orange-breasted beauty! love the chivalrous little step he seems to be taking towards you. next he will gallantly bow! ; )) hugs, sabine.La33 28/03/2013 7:06
