Creta island.
Ancient relics of St Peter and Paul monastery in Heraklion.
The monastery is very old, built during the first years of the Venetian occupation(13th century) and was the most important of the Catholic monasteries in the city.It was loaded with magnificent frescoes. It was partly destroyed during the Turkish occupation and then made into a mosque.
Today is being reconstructed under the supervision of the Archaeological service.

Restoring these ancient places is always good, then we can at least try to undertand how life was back then.A supebly shot scene under difficult light conditions, but expertly handled and edited as always.

patches of colour show a glimpse of "unearthed" beautiful frescoes .... and how magnificent this old monastery used to be ... a fine shot with the light coming through the window and leaving the shadows on the floor !!greetings, Adele
