At that time when taking this shot I only had a 105mm 2.8 (Macro) Nikkor lens to shoot with.

Thanks for advising, I appreciate every advise as I am a beginner who needs to learn a lot. You might be right. Next week - if I find some time - I'll drive to this place again and try it from a different perspective.

I like this a lot. It has a dreamy atmosphere.
If you don't mind some advice: How would the picture look like if you would cut out the chairs at the right up the the end of the door at right?

Thanks for your advise, actually I wanted to focus on the rocking chairs...but you're right. I think either the background should be totally blurred or everything should be sharp. Thanks a lot for telling!!!

G'day,

i like your photograph with it's harmonic scene.
But the background is pretty unsharp...i think you wanted to have a completely sharp image - thats why you have chosen an aperture of f9; maybe it would had been better to stop it down to f16 or something like this.

However, i like your photo much - except the background.
