Roman bridge of Capua

Capua founded in 800 BC before the conquest by the Romans. Born on the site of ancient Casilinum following the destruction of Ancient Capua first and then of Sicopolis, it was the largest and most important center of Terra di Lavoro until the end of the eighteenth century and more generally one of the major cities of the Kingdom of Naples, by virtue of its strategic position on the Volturno river and on the ancient Roman roads Via Appia and Via Casilina.
