The people give this wonderful scene a real sense of scale, and light brings out all the different shapes in the rock structure in this very fine monochrome image.
best wishes,

rocks and people, people and rocks – almost hard to tell them apart. the ants are moving uphill, not for the sake of collective survival but for individual salvation and spiritual well-being – is this the difference between man and the beast? or do ants have a religion, too? we can't be sure… for as much as we know, there may just be trails of minuscule ants moving up towards the monastery, too – we simply can't see them. they're too tiny! but if they are, moving up, that is, i think it's because some niche of the monastery may be inhabited by their queen. ants are a monarchial bunch! ; )) greetings, sabine.
The people are as tiny specks in this great stoney desert landscape. The way you have composed this shot gives a feel of great pace yet closed in by mountainous rocks.
Superb
the treck of people like tiny aunts forming a line on their way through a forbidding looking rockscape .... I imagine it dry and hot and without shade .... great story telling and impressive all the fine details !!!
greetings, Adele
Although the image is chaotic, One can not help but discover the human trait and relate it to a line of ants on reconnaissance mission for enlightenment. I find the parallel of the line advance as in your picture the line of people in a reconnaissance for enlightenment in the Sinai desert. Thanks to the distance in which you shot your picture and from the height of the average man looking down at his feet , at the ants is a perfect parallel to my thoughts.. The the juxtaposition from where your camera is placed to the objects set near infinity is perfect good work good exposure good shooting, and good taste. cheers
