Southern Ring Necked Snake
Day or two old, Black back and an orange belly with that stripe around its neck. very pretty animal. Help me identify if you can. animal was released back into the wild after about ten minutes.

ok WE HAVE A MATCH. Diadophis_punctarus( Ring Necked Snake) natave to southern USA., feeds on insects and small critters. Works mostly at night. Rarely seen in the daylight.
