Television Land Pass Life

Looking back on captured images while roaming small towns and communities that are slipping into ghost towns. You begin to wonder why. I could use the word derelict, as they do in ghettos in the East, or in California. Here there are a few ingredients. Political view point, lack of work, and a fair to bring tourism into their town for photographers world wide. For a decade the people here have been unfriendly, Not even a cafe to sit and chat. Just keep out signs. As I shoo,t a man in a truck follows me around at a distance. I can hear the low rumble of his engine creeping at a walking man's pace behind me. I am not intimidate. I smile and continue on shooting. Photographers are not collectors of people’s personal items, we don't rummage. We just shoot and bond what was to what is reality today as a juxtaposition of frozen time in memory or comparison.

It seems like the television was just too old to keep up with the change of time. The television is left for dead like a grave marker. I guess to be thrown into the back of one’s pick-up truck is like going to the promise land around here. I stood in it's view and just tried to think of when this place still had a chance. For some reason I heard all the old worthless commercials and game shows that filled us with hope during the cold war. Social history captured as apart of it's time remembered, and will be soon forgotten when I move out of the televisions angle of reflection and reflected memories. I’m turning the channels now. Good-bye 2014.

I take with me one thing from this image. “People close their own doors and die in time.” Hello 2015.

About the unkind man in the pick up truck. Well I guess he figured he was waisting too much of his precocious gas and moseyed on to the hardware store.
