The Living Forest (497) : Lesser Periwinkle

Lesser periwinkle is a small dwarf plant native to Europe that likes to grow in the brushwood and dense undergrowth of deciduous forests.
Its tiny blue flowers are produced mainly from early spring to mid summer.

There exist also several cultivars of this species for use in gardens as a groundcover for its evergreen foliage, ease of culture and dense compactness that smothers most ‘weeds’.

Dutch name : Kleine Maagdenpalm
German name : Kleines Immergrün (auch Kleines Singrün genannt)
Latin name : Vinca minor
