The Spike in O'Connell St. Dublin
The "Spike" is it's nickname it's called the millenium something or other. it was erected in 2000, it replaces a colum of Nelson that had stood there up on till the 60s. When it was blown up, by the IRA, it stood out as symbol of oppression to them, and as far as they were concerned! it had to go, so there you go.. a wee tale of Irish history for you all.
