A propos de moi

For me the human experience is intrinsically linked to empathy. Without this quality it is all but impossible to understand another person's perspective. Through my lense I attempt to connect with other human beings, to tell their story in an honest and revealing way; not to be frightened of showing the beauty of the situation whether that beauty resonates from desperation or elation.
I specialize in photography of the Middle East with particular focus on Arabia. I am currently working on two projects- a book on the ancient city of Sana'a (Yemen's capital) and one on The Gulf Phenomenon which seeks to capture the essence of the modern Persian Gulf with all its colour, juxtapositions and contradictions. These books celebrate the region, exploring the diversity of culture revealing a side of life that isn't hitherto much explored. Images range from tribemen with their klashnikofs in the mountains of Yemen to Emiratis dune bashing in pink range rovers in the Inland Sea, Qatar, to the few extant bedouin in existence with their camels and corregated iron tents in the Empty Quarter.
