A propos de moi
Musician, singer, author, hobby photographer, and just getting into short films. An Englishman from the South East of England now living in Neurnberg, Germany.
As an amateur photographer, I tend to take what I see in front of me, and what inspires me - all very personal images. My inspiration doesn't particularly mean perfect photos, but images with passion, feeling, and very rarely with people in them. I'm looking for the spacy - the unusual, whether it be a sunset or a demolition site, a window, or an empty bottle.
The only cameras I use are a very old and simple Rolleiflex SLR which was 'old' when I bought it in 1982, I also have an Olympus which I hardly ever use now, and, on odd occasions recently, I've used a small Nikon Digital.
Two of the photos on this site at present were taken with a very cheap, plastic, instant camera that cost 10 euros new. So my attitude is, if possible, I use my eyes and heart to do the 'arty' bit, and the technology comes second, and, if I'm lucky, I get a half decent picture - something more like a painting than a photo.
I've had two well recieved photo exhibitions in Nuernberg, and was very happy when some of the pictures sold. It was a great compliment for me, the thought that somebody really liked the pictures and wanted to take them home and hang them on the wall.
If anybody is interested in more personal details, and other things I'm into, then visit my personal web site at - www.john-winch.de There is also a message board there if required.
I'd also like to thank all the other members who took the trouble to leave comments- big thanks for all for the hard work done on Fotocommunity - it's unique.
GOOD NEWS.
My thriller novel DEADLY SAVIOURS under the name JOHN JAMES WINCH (publishamerica.com). It's a good read, and has just been released.
