A Maine Barn In Winter

I wasn't too pleased about not being able to include all of the treetop, but I was forced to do it. I couldn't get any further away from the scene because I was standing in the highway and that's the best I could do with that lens. I wanted all that nice texture in the snow in the foreground so it was either that or all of the tree.

I looked at the picture and said, that must be a foto from Craig and so it was. A very fine barn and a beautiful picture with very fine light elements. I don't mind the cut off tree top, the main object is the barn.
    Best wishes
    Dieter

A wonderful winter scene, a very nice composition! Jan wrote it, here is no snow, but rain every day!
    Regards, Olaf.

Right you are, Jan. Thanks for the suggestion....it improves the appearance of the photo dramatically to my eye. That's the main reason I post pics on this site...to get suggestions on how to improve my photography...that and of course studying the images of all the wonderful photographers that participate here.

    a very nice impression ...
I think your position is o.k. So you have the feeling of a windy day, especially with the light and the long shadows in the snow ... very fine structure

The cut-off treetop doesn't really harm. Perhaps I could have been more "cruel" to the tree by cutting the picture somewhere in the middle between the roof of the barn and the top margin. This makes the barn look a bit bigger I think.
Overall, a nice winter impression from your area - love to see it. We're having rain at about 45-50°F here in Germany...
