A secular smile

The ninth national parliamentary election of Bangladesh, after nearly two-year military-backed interim government, was held across the country. Communities of different ethnic and religious minorities spontaneously participated in the election and cast their vote fearlessly after a many years. Somori Rani, who belongs to the Hindu religious minority, came with her neighbours to cast her vote at a voting centre at Keraniganj, near Dhaka City on December 29 in 2008.
