Barn Swallow

My shot shows the already well grown barn swallow chicks in a nest located in a pitch dark cowshed with very little daylight.

The barn swallow is a distinctive passerine bird that is found all over Europe.
This bird builds a cup nest from mud pellets, mostly in barns or similar structures.

Every year in august the barn swallows start their 14000 km trip to South Africa to overwinter.
