Battle of the Bulge 2012
In World War II, Foy was occupied by German forces during the Battle of the Bulge. The American 101st Airborne Division held the Bois Jacques just outside of town. After being relieved by George S. Patton's Third Army, the 101st retook the town. The assault, spearheaded by Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR, was depicted in the mini-series Band of Brothers.

Allied Troops from many other countries participated in D-Day June 6,1944 and the Battle of Normandy, in all the different armed services: Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland.Over 425,000 Allied and German troops were killed, wounded or went missing during the Battle of Normandy.
