Blue Moor Frog

The moor frog is a small amphibian, inhabiting an area stretching from Belgium in the west over central Europe to Siberia in the east.

Once a year, in the mating season, the male moor frog discolors from brown to blue to attract a female.
How bluer he becomes, the more potent he seems and the more chance he has to win a female for himself.
A unique spectacle !

However, it's fast over. After 1 or 2 days the male frog retakes his original brown color.

Dutch name : Heikikker
German name : Moorfrosch
Latin name : Rana arvalis
