The famous Burij Khalifa, the desert flower of Dubai. It is the tallest man made structure in the world, at 829,8m height(2722ft). Construction began on September 2004 and completed on October 2009. Architecture and engineering were performed by Skidmore,Owings and Merill of Chicago. Adrian Smith was the cief architect and Bill Baker chief structural engineer. The primary contractor was Samsung C+T of South Korea. It cost near 300 million $ and it is illuminated by 7000 lights. The observation deck is on the 125th floor, at 450m height. One man has already committed suicide falling from the 145th floor. Police said his company refused to grant leave.
